Ineffable Lypophrenia Art Prize 2022 | Performance Video
Ineffable Lypophrenia, which means, "to great or extreme to be described in words; a feeling of sadness without causes," is a narrative dance performance that seeks to find a common thread that connects us all to the abstract ebb and flow of sadness. The moment it strikes, without warning, can consume oneself. The piece explores how we communicate with one another, and how we are not absent minded to what goes on in the world around us or the pressing weight of the power dynamics from our societal construct but how it deeply affects us even subconsciously. The feeling of helplessness in a worldly turmoil while pushing beyond this container to gain momentum towards real change.
This performance will follow this emotional thread of grief, confliction, fear, numbness and anger through collaborative choreography by Ciara Glass & Company dancers. Through this concept grounded in dance, we hope you can feel the heart strings that pull each of us together. That you are seen. That you are heard, and we can work towards a collaborative effort towards social change.
